PatternFolio Monitor launches a living canvas and a shareable audit feed
Pattern recognition at scale is the missing primitive in every apparel brand's IP toolkit. Competitors don't clone your catalog with a single knockoff — they ship dozens of near-miss reworks a quarter, and the leaked revenue shows up long after the patterns have already hit retail shelves. PatternFolio Monitor shipped two flagship surfaces this release to fix that: a living canvas you can navigate, and an audit feed you can hand to your legal team without a single screenshot.
The Scan → Funnel → Pattern → Studio hierarchy
Monitor is built as four layers, each one a real upgrade path rather than a marketing tier. On the Monitor landing page they sit stacked top-to-bottom in the order PatternFolio expects you to adopt them:
- Scan — a one-off website audit on any competitor URL. Image, page, or text. Similarity score and signed receipt in under a minute. The free tier; nothing to configure.
- Funnel — the cadence layer. A monitored competitor's patterns are re-scored weekly (Starter) or bi-weekly (Pro) and compared to the prior run. The moment similarity drifts more than 15 percentage points, an alert fires.
- Pattern — browse the index of every competitor pattern PatternFolio has ever audited, laid out as a 2D canvas. Filter by family, hover to inspect, click to trace the audit chain that produced the score.
- Studio — wire audits into your working stack. REST endpoints, Inner I Secure policy gates, and a tamper-evident HMAC-SHA256 audit chain behind every call.
The four tiers aren't upsell theater; if you only need one-off scans, you never leave Scan. If you run a 25-competitor watchlist on a custom cadence, you end up in Studio. Everything in between is a real, reversible path.
The living canvas
The PatternFolio canvas is a 2D map of every indexed competitor pattern, positioned by perceptual similarity rather than by metadata. Each pattern renders as an organic blob cell — not a square tile — and the cell color reflects its current clearance result: clear-tier patterns glow one color, review-tier another, flagged patterns dim toward a third. There are no rows; you scroll the canvas the way you'd scroll a satellite image.
Hover a cell and a tooltip surfaces the source URL, the family classification, and the last similarity score. Click through and the inspector panel opens on the right: matched reference designs, the Inner I Secure audit chain hash behind the score, and a trace back to every prior run that contributed to the current reading. That's the part that turns "the dashboard said 78%" into something a senior reviewer can actually audit.
The canvas refills on its own. Every time you audit a new URL — manually on the Scan tier, automatically on Funnel — the new pattern lands at its perceptual coordinates, the neighborhood re-buckets by similarity, and any cells that crossed a clearance threshold flip color. By the end of a quarter the canvas isn't a snapshot of the market; it's a record of what's been moving.
The shareable audit feed
When PatternFolio finishes an audit on a URL, it produces more than a row in your dashboard. Each completed audit generates a small, signed receipt — score, action badge, matched reference designs, the Inner I Secure audit chain proof — and assigns that audit a stable canonical URL at /zi/audit/:id/public. There is no login on that page. There is no account lookup. The link is the artifact.
On the live Monitor dashboard, each public audit row carries a one-click Share button. A click copies the canonical link to clipboard — no email round-trip, no "let me screenshot the dashboard" handoff. The button lives next to every audit row so legal, licensing, and your brand-protection team all receive the same URL you can read aloud in a standup.
What partners see on the public audit page
The public audit snapshot is deliberately read-only and minimal. Anyone with the link sees the similarity score at the top, the action badge (clear, review, flag, reject) just below it, the matched reference designs with per-match similarity bars, the source URL you audited, and the Inner I Secure chain hash tying the receipt to the tamper-evident log. A small footer invites the visitor to run their own audit at PatternFolio.
They do not see your account email, your plan tier, your monitored competitor list, or any other audit you've run. The snapshot endpoint is served unauthenticated from a separate route specifically so that the public URL is safe to forward to an outside counsel's inbox the morning they ask for evidence. The signed chain hash on the same page is what your legal team uses to verify the snapshot hasn't been edited since — it's the receipt, not just a claim.
How the audit feed prevents leaked revenue
The reason most teams catch pattern infringement too late isn't that the work isn't being done — it's that the work lives inside a dashboard that only the team that ran the audit can see. PatternFolio Monitor closes that loop with an audit feed: every Funnel-tier scheduled scan produces a public artifact the moment it completes. One URL. One score. One badge. One chain hash. Forward to legal in the same email you already send them when a competitor launches a near-miss.
That's what turns pattern recognition on a fixed cadence into something that prevents leaked revenue instead of merely recording it. The Funnel tier is the upstream — it makes sure the audit runs every week whether anyone remembered to schedule it or not. The canvas is the middle layer — it shows you when the competitor graph is moving. The audit feed is the downstream — it's the link that turns a private dashboard reading into evidence a partner can act on. Stack them and the next knockoff doesn't have a quarter head start.
